The ski resort of Chamonix sits in the shadow of Mont Blanc and offers some of the most challenging skiing in Europe.
Consisting of six separate ski areas Chamonix is in the centre of a string of villages spread out along a valley cutting deep through the Alps; from the village of Argentiere which is 10km up the valley, beneath the renowned Grands-Montets slopes, to Les Houches which is a small holiday resort a few kilometers in the opposite direction.
The huge variety of on- and off-piste skiing in Chamonix attracts ski bums from around the world. The town of Chamonix is only an hour from Geneva which is also very convenient. A ski resort not for the beginner skier.
